THANK YOU, Lemont residents, for voting on the bond proposal. Unofficial results from the election showed 61.22% voting in favor of the proposal. A 50% majority was required for the measure to pass.
- The bond issue will fund projects that address critical needs, including:
- Relocating fire stations to reduce the time it takes for first responders to arrive on the scene of an emergency and provide lifesaving assistance.
- Ensuring all four of our fire stations provide:
– Separate gear storage space to lower our first responders’ exposure to carcinogens.
– Space for up-to-date emergency vehicles and emergency medical, fire, and rescue equipment.
– Ability to house the nationally recommended number of firefighter/paramedics.
– Providing state-of-the-art training facilities to ensure first responders are well-prepared.

Making Our Community Safer and
Emergency Response Faster.
Lemont’s growing population and increased demand for emergency services have led to longer response times, which can make a critical difference in emergencies.
To address this, a bond referendum on the November 5 ballot proposes relocating two fire stations and renovating and updating others to make our community safer.
The proposal would improve response times and ensure that firefighters and paramedics have access to the tools and training needed to protect the community.
The Bond Referendum Would:

- Ensure All Four Stations Provide:
- Separate gear storage space to lower our first responders’ exposure to carcinogens.
- Space for up-to-date emergency vehicles and emergency medical, fire, and rescue equipment.
- Ability to house the nationally recommended number of firefighter/paramedics.
If approved by voters, the $46 million bond proposal will result in an additional investment of approximately $185 per year or $15.41 a month for the owner of a $400,000 home in Cook County and approximately $209 a year or $17.41 per month in DuPage and Will County.
